Salary: PO5 £38,961 - £41,616 a year pro rata
22.5 hours a week – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Location: Perth Street

Derby places a significant and impressive number of children in care for adoption. The plans and matches for these children are considered by two adoption panels in the City. Due to the retirement of the current post-holder, we are seeking to recruit a Professional Advisor to these panels.

As Professional Advisor to our panels you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the panels, including the recruitment and development of panel members, in conjunction with the independent panel chairs. You will be responsible for ensuring that statutory requirements are met by offering professional advice to both panels, at a time of potentially major change in the adoption arena. You will also have a vital quality assurance function, in relation to work submitted for the panels.

If you are a qualified/GSCC registered Social Worker with experience of adoption as a practitioner, at least 3 years of working at middle or senior management in a complex environment, and a strong commitment to the provision of permanence for children in care via adoption, this could be the post for you.
