Independent Chair Foster Panel
We are seeking a qualified, registered and experienced Social Worker who can chair our Fostering Panel. To be successful you will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of working in children’s social care
services and substantial knowledge of the law, regulations and national standards relation to fostering and/or adoption.
You will have the demonstrable authority and competence to chair a meeting where complex details are under scrutiny, with capacity to ensure that contributors from a wide range of backgrounds are included. We want to
make sure that the chair(s) of our panels are not just visiting contributors, but an integral part of our quality assurance programme for the provision of an outstanding fostering service.
Wokingham Borough Panels are held 9 times and approximately once per month with breaks at Easter, Summer and Christmas time. There are also planned additional business meetings and training events throughout the year
will be paid at £300. per day pro rata.
The contract will be awarded for three years, subject to annual review.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the Criminal Record Bureau will be undertaken.
Please note you will not be employed by Wokingham Borough Council but will be deemed as self-employed.
